Your doctor may tell you that an acne diet won’t work. The people that make and sell acne treatment products will certainly tell you that an acne diet won’t work. They can cite studies and quote, chapter and verse, the findings that they claim prove that there is no link between what you eat and acne formation.
How can that be? How can someone possibly believe that what you put into your body doesn’t have any influence on how your body reacts?
Try telling that to the anti-tobacco crowd, or the “twelve step” folks at AA, and you may be in for a fight.
Everyone, even doctors, understand that people that eat a healthy diet will have a longer life expectancy than those that eat a bad one. What you eat will determine everything from your life span, to your weight, to your energy level, and diets have been developed to address all of these issues.

More & more, medical professionals are starting to see that acne is a skin condition, not a disease. It is actually symptomatic of another, possibly more serious condition that is present deep inside your body.
At it’s most basic level, your body has become overloaded with hormones, chemicals and toxins, or a combination of all three, and is working to remove the excess by emulsifying them in sebum oil and sending it out through your skin. This oil tends to pool in hair follicles and skin pores, and these pools are the perfect breeding ground for the P-acne bacteria, which lives on everyone’s skin.
The bacteria invades the pools of oil and begin to breed at abnormal rates. In breeding, the bacteria emit an enzyme that irritates skin cells, and your body reacts by sending white blood cells to fight the irritation. Before you know it, you have a nice fat zit on the tip of your nose.
“OKAY! (you say) But, what does that have to do with an acne diet?”

A good example is the milk that you get from your favorite food store. Every sip contains fifty nine different hormones, loads of saturated animal fat, and other hormones that come from the steroids that are given to cows to stimulate milk production.
Following a proper acne diet will greatly reduce, or better yet, eliminate your consumption of these harmful substances and allow your body to regain it’s natural internal balance. Then, it will no longer need to produce a lot of sebum oil, and the reason for the start of your acne outbreaks will no longer exist.
